Thank you for completing our 2021 Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife (FNPW) Supporter Survey. All of us at FNPW value your opinions and your responses will help us to prioritize where we focus our impact in the years to come. Here are some of our findings.
We were so pleased to learn that the vast majority of you, nearly 82%, enjoy the Australian outdoors by visiting a national park, followed closely by visiting a nature reserve and going for bushwalks or hiking. If you are looking for some new parks to visit, we would encourage you to check out some of these hidden gems from one of our favourite articles on World Parks Day here.
As we would have guessed, over 90% of you ranked the environment (conservation and wildlife) as the most important cause to you personally, and nearly the same percent of you (89%) ranked extinction of plants and animals as the most important environmental issue facing Australia at the moment. That being said, it is no surprise that the national parks are important to you as a place where Australian native species and wilderness areas are protected and where you know biodiversity will be preserved for future generations.
It is this mission of growing parks and saving species that inspire you to support FNPW’s work. FNPW’s core project areas of interest to you were the work that FNPW does to save endangered species and grow national parks, second only to FNPW’s Backyard Buddies educational initiative, which tells us that you value learning about our precious wilderness and wildlife, as well as protecting these species and their habitats for the future.
Finally, we were happy to find that over half of you wanted to receive our 2020 Impact Report. We have sent out the Impact Report by email to those supporters from the survey who identified that they would like a copy. However, if you did not get the Impact Report and would like to view it, we have linked the FNPW – A snapshot of 2020 – Impact Report below.
We would still love to hear from you
Again, thank you for taking the time to tell us what is important to you. Based on your answers, some of you might have heard from us regarding more information on some of the ways you can support FNPW through a Gift in your Will or by becoming a Habitat Hero monthly donor. If you would simply like more information from these survey question subjects, we have provided additional links below.
If you did not hear from us and you would like to get in touch, we would love to hear from you! Contact us per our details in the footer or by clicking here.
