Supporting recovery of flood impacted landscapes in the Northern Rivers NSW

Whian Whian Landcare is thrilled to have been awarded a grant from the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife.

This funding is supporting restoration activities in the Lismore Local Government Areas listed as impacted by both the 2019-2020 bushfires and the 2022 major flood event.

The grant will be used to support revegetation efforts in Whian Whian and Dorroughby localities of sites impacted by landslip and flood damage and in close proximity to area of the 2019 Nightcap wildfire.

This project will have a positive impact on the biodiversity of the 3 properties involved supporting the recovery of both Subtropical Rainforest and Koala Habitat.

As part of this project we have 12 volunteers from Whian Whian Landcare assisting the restoration and revegetation planting the trees with site preparation supported by qualified bush regeneration contractors.

This Restoration Grant is managed by the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife with funding from Global Giving.
