Sherwood Creek A Nursery for Juvenile Australian Bass

We are excited to share that OzFish Unlimited has been awarded a grant from the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife @fnpwaustralia.

The purpose is to provide funds to support restoration activities in the Local Government Areas (LGA’s) listed as impacted by the 2019-2020 bushfires.
The grant will be used to Regenerate & revegetate 3 hectares along the riparian banks of Sherwood Creek NSW.

This project will have a positive impact on the biodiversity of the site, supporting both local aquatic creatures and wildlife by creating environmentally safe havens.
As part of this project, we had 17 volunteers from OzFish, Landcare, Friends of the Koalas, Biodiversity Doctor Australia and local landholders assisting in the restoration and regeneration, by removing exotic weeds, planting 1000 native trees, conducting Citizen Science water bug sampling and eDNA testing.

The Bushfire Restoration Grant is managed by the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife with funding from @GlobalGiving.
