PLANTINGS PROVIDE GREEN CORRIDORS FOR WILDLIFE
Local volunteers, community groups, Council, and the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife (FNPW) have come together to support a revegetation program to boost biodiversity, increase habitat for local fauna and create linkages between important biodiversity spots from Mount Barker Summit down to the Laratinga Wetlands.
Over the last 12 months, 300 volunteers have planted and maintained 3500 native seedlings across three areas of 2 hectares each.
The newly established native plants are improving soil health, enhancing biodiversity, increasing wildlife habitat and reducing invasive weeds.
You can continue the effort and register for Planet Ark’s National Tree Day with a planting at Anembo Park on Sunday 30 July. Sign up at https://treeday.planetark.org/site/10027996
