Swim Sydney's Beautiful Harbour to Protect our Little Penguins
On Sunday 11th March 2012, plunge yourself into the most stunning harbour in the world and raise money for a great cause. Register before the 31st January to get an early bird discount.
This year, the Ord Minnett Sydney Harbour Swim Classic has chosen the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife as one of its featured charities!
You can swim 1 or 2 km amongst the spectacular scenery of Sydney Harbour. Anyone can enter, enjoy a great day out literally under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and raise money for the Foundation's project to protect Manly's Little Penguins - the last remaining breeding colony on the NSW mainland.
Our swimming strokes cannot compete with the perfect paddling style of our Little Penguin pals. Little Penguins may be better swimmers but they need us to kick water this March to ensure they survive in our beautiful Sydney Harbour. Sydney's endangered Little Penguins suffer from loss of suitable habitats, predation from foxes and dogs and disturbance at nesting sites from human activities.
You can help Little Penguins by becoming an Everyday Hero and selecting the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife as your charity of choice at this year's Sydney Harbour Swim Classic. Get family and friends to support your efforts to so they can be penguin heroes too.

You can go in the event solo or in a team. School groups, pool groups, businesses, families, government organisations, friends and acquaintances are all encouraged to assemble a team and enjoy the races together.

This event even has under 18s races, so the whole family can enjoy the day.
Over 1,000 people entered the races last year and made the Sydney Harbour Swim Classic a resounding success. Take part this year and show your community spirit by fundraising for the Foundation through the Everyday Hero website, and give back to the environment.
